I'm curious, because what Tom was suggesting is:

   attribute :a, +:r, -:w

(I disagree with his meaning for +/-, but...) So what if I want to create an 
attribute named "+r" that's a reader/writer (e.g., :+r, not +:+r or -:+r)?
